Before founding Omnikron Systems, Inc., Basu managed the implementation of the enterprise-wide retail banking application for First Interstate Bank. His career includes training and development of large-scale transaction processing systems for organizations such as Wells Fargo Bank (formerly First Interstate Bank), Federal Express, American Savings Bank, IBM Canada, Bank of America, VISA, Citicorp, British Airways, EDS, US AIR, Hyatt Hotels, Marriott Hotels, American Express, United Airlines and many more.
Basu has more than 20 years of experience in all facets of software design and implementation of enterprise-wide applications.
Basu is an internationally known and respected expert on IBM's Transaction Processing Facility. He has given seminars in Asia, Europe, and North America on a variety of applications-development topics, ranging from S/370 assembly language programming to front-end tools for the client-server environment.
Basu holds an M.S. (1978) in Computer Science from UCLA. He received his BS (1968) and MS (1970) in Applied Geology from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and MA (1973) in Geology from Boston University.
